Second Lives, the exhibition, looks at works made of ordinary and everyday manufactured articles, most originally made for another functional purpose. The catalog includes 300 full-color illustrations of works by 54 artists and designers from five continents, some established, such as Tara Donavan and Ingo Mauer, and others emerging, such as Yuken Teruya and Nicholas Galanin. The publication features essays by Museum of Arts and Design chief curator David McFadden and curator Lowery Sims, as well as portrait, artist statements, and biographies of all of the artists. —Museum of Arts and Design
